Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to process language, but does not affect intelligence.The most common cause of aphasia is a stroke, but it can also result from a head injury, a brain tumor, or a brain aneurysm.
If you have aphasia, you might have difficulty trying to find words in your memory banks when you are speaking, or may have trouble listening or understanding others when they speak, or have trouble reading or writing.
