About Our Group

We have 4 reasons why we meet:
– To make friends with other people who have Aphasia
– To learn as much as we can about Aphasia by hearing about it from neurologists, nurses, and speech therapists
– To learn different ways to help us to overcome aphasia to the best of our ability (e.g. activities to improve our speaking, ways of speaking to those who have aphasia); activities that speech therapists didn’t try with us, but that we discovered on our own
– To simply talk to others with aphasia and not have to worry if we make mistakes (i.e. we’ll improve our abilities at our own pace.)

Our meetings are held monthly:
Cross of Christ Lutheran Church (Hjelm Room), 1555 Hamilton Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06706
